During Women in Construction Week, I am proud of the trailblazing women who have come before me such as Mary Ainsley, Anna Barry, Jane Chmielinski, Jane Garvey, Liz Levin, Judy Nitsch, Margaret O’Meara, Mary Jane O’Meara, Dorri Raposa, Karen Arpino-Shaffer, to name a few. These women aren’t just change agents, they are well known mentors to many and I am honored to call them my friends. They have worked through many challenges to strengthen the path for the women who will follow and make positive change for our industry. I am excited to see so many women as brilliant engineers, hard workers, and fierce leaders of some of the top firms in the country. I see a very bright future indeed when everyone, both women and men, work together for the good of our industry!
