Connecticut Department of Transportation I-95 Reconstruction
Location: Bridgeport, CT
Services: Construction Inspection
Completion Date: 2008
This Program consisted of the reconstruction and realignment of I-95 in the City of Bridgeport from the Fairfield/Bridgeport town line to the vicinity of the Bridgeport/Stratford town line, a distance of 3 miles.
The project included the rehabilitation and/or replacement of structurally deficient bridges and the addition of structural width to ensure lane continuity and improve traffic flow. The Program was divided into five major projects to segment the construction phases and to allow for the minimization of interruption to the heavy traffic flow on the main interstate facility in Connecticut. Some of the more complicated phases included the reconstruction of a major structure carrying I-95 over Metro-North railroad, the relocation/reconstruction of key ramps providing service from Bridgeport to I-95, the Yellow Mill and Bridgeport Harbor bridges reconstruction, and the reconstruction of the major interchange with Route 8. Keville Enterprises provided both bridge and highway construction inspection in addition to quality assurance inspection services.
