Keville Enterprises, Inc. provided steel fabrication, bearing and coating inspections at three fabrication facilities for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT). Keville provided steel fabrication services at the Foster Precise fabrication yard for 677,680 lbs. of steel for a Huntingdon County bridge; 230,027 lbs. of steel for four bridges in Montgomery County and 40,983 lbs. of steel for a Bucks County bridge.

In addition, Keville inspectors performed coating inspections on 136,113 lbs. of steel located at the Duncan Galvanizing facility for a bridge to be erected in Allegheny County. Keville inspectors also performed bridge bearing inspections for PennDOT at the Cosmec facility for 3 bridges in Allegheny County with a construction value of $134M and another bridge in Montgomery County with a value of $82M. Keville’s AWS Certified Welding inspectors performed visual verification inspections for the welding and fit-up of the structural steel members of each bridge, including: reviewing welding; observation of UT being performed by UT Tech; reviewing material test reports; spot checking radiographs; checking heat numbers; observing weld prep being made for web splices; observing the radiography of welder qualification test plates; and observing the fit up of splices. Keville provided these services as a subconsultant to R.W. Hunt, who was recently acquired by Bureau Veritas.
